1950 | Established Daiichi-Kogyo Co., Ltd., with capital of ¥500,000 in Nagoya, Aichi, for the purpose of selling bearings and machine components. |

1956 | Began R&D for Needle Roller Bearings. Started selling Needle Roller Bearings via a business alliance with Nippon Thompson Bearing Co., Ltd. |
1959 | Established Himeji Factory in Himeji, Hyogo, and began manufacturing Needle Roller Bearings. |
1963 | Moved the Corporate Headquarters to Shinbashi, Minato-ku, Tokyo Registered trademark IKO as corporate brand. Changed company name to NIPPON THOMPSON CO., LTD. Listed its stock on the Second Section of Tokyo Stock Exchange. |
1964 | Acquired Nippon Thompson Bearing Co., Ltd. Established Kamakura Factory in Kamakura, Kanagawa. |
1967 | Listed its stock on the Second Section of Osaka Securities Exchange. |
1968 | Moved to and newly built the Corporate Headquarters at the present location (Takanawa, Minato-ku, Tokyo). Transferred its stock to the First Section of Tokyo Stock Exchange and Osaka Securities Exchange. |
1969 | Entered into a four-year business tie-up contract with SKF-a Swedish bearing manufacturer. Established Gifu Factory Complex in Mino, Gifu. Completed Gifu Factory (currently Gifu Factory 1 South Bldg.). |

1971 | Established IKO INTERNATIONAL, INC., in Illinois, USA (currently a consolidated subsidiary). Established IKO Sales Co., Ltd. (currently a consolidated subsidiary Nippon Thompson Sales Co., Ltd.) in Minato-ku, Tokyo. |
