1950〜

1950 Established Daiichi-Kogyo Co., Ltd., with capital of ¥500,000 in Nagoya, Aichi, for the purpose of selling bearings and machine components.
1956 Began R&D for Needle Roller Bearings. Started selling Needle Roller Bearings via a business alliance with Nippon Thompson Bearing Co., Ltd.
1959 Established Himeji Factory in Himeji, Hyogo, and began manufacturing Needle Roller Bearings.
1963 Moved the Corporate Headquarters to Shinbashi, Minato-ku, Tokyo
Registered trademark IKO as corporate brand.
Changed company name to NIPPON THOMPSON CO., LTD.
Listed its stock on the Second Section of Tokyo Stock Exchange.
1964 Acquired Nippon Thompson Bearing Co., Ltd.
Established Kamakura Factory in Kamakura, Kanagawa.
1967 Listed its stock on the Second Section of Osaka Securities Exchange.
1968 Moved to and newly built the Corporate Headquarters at the present location (Takanawa, Minato-ku, Tokyo).
Transferred its stock to the First Section of Tokyo Stock Exchange and Osaka Securities Exchange.
1969 Entered into a four-year business tie-up contract with SKF-a Swedish bearing manufacturer.
Established Gifu Factory Complex in Mino, Gifu. Completed Gifu Factory (currently Gifu Factory 1 South Bldg.).

1970〜

1971 Established IKO INTERNATIONAL, INC., in Illinois, USA (currently a consolidated subsidiary).
Established IKO Sales Co., Ltd. (currently a consolidated subsidiary Nippon Thompson Sales Co., Ltd.) in Minato-ku, Tokyo.
1972 Established Technological Laboratory at Kamakura Factory.
1973 Entered into a capital alliance with FUJIKOSHI CORP.
Established Kasagami MFG. Co., Ltd. (currently a consolidated subsidiary), in Mino, Gifu.
1975 Established NIPPON THOMPSON EUROPE B.V. (currently a consolidated subsidiary) in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
1978 Developed and started selling linear motion rolling guides- Linear Way (currently Linear Way Series).
1982 Entered into a capital alliance with Daruma-Sangyo Co., Ltd. in Gifu (currently a consolidated subsidiary-Nippon DIC Co,. Ltd. in Nagoya).
Developed and started selling Precision Positioning Tables (currently Mechatronics Series).
1983 Developed and started selling roller-type linear motion guides.
1984 Established Gifu Factory 2 (currently Gifu Factory 1 North Bldg.) at Gifu Factory Complex.
1985 Established a technical sector Technical Center at Gifu Factory Complex (currently Manufacturing & Technology Center).
1987 Awarded “Good Design Awards” (operated by Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization (JIDPO) endorsed by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry) with Linear Way LWA, Angular Ball Spline LSA and Precision Positioning Table CT220/220A.
1988 Established Gifu Factory 3 at Gifu Factory Complex.
1989 Established Mugegawa MFG. Co., Ltd. (currently a consolidated subsidiary), in Seki, Gifu.

1990〜

1990 Completed the Technical Center at Gifu Factory Complex.
1991 Opened “IKO Today” showroom at Gifu Factory Complex.
1994 Established Development Center at Kamakura Factory.
1995 Established Gifu Factory 4 at Gifu Factory Complex.
Awarded 26th “New Machine Developing Award”, sponsored by Japan Society for the Promotion of Machine Industry with Linear Motor Table TSLM.
1996 Established Gifu Factory 5 at Gifu Factory Complex.
Completed Information System Center at Gifu Factory Complex.
1997 Acquired ISO9002 certification for Gifu Factory 3 and Gifu Factory 5 at Gifu Factory Complex.
1998 Established Gifu Factory 6 at Gifu Factory Complex
Acquired ISO9002 certification for Gifu Factory 1 at Gifu Factory Complex.

2001 Acquired ISO14001 certification in Gifu area (Gifu Factory Complex, Kasagami MFG. Co., Ltd., and Mugegawa MFG. Co., Ltd.).
Established a new Factory 2 at Gifu Factory Complex.
Acquired ISO9002 certification for Factory 6 at Gifu Factory Complex.

2002 Awarded “Machine Design Award” sponsored by The Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, Ltd., with Nano Linear NT.
2003 Abolished the listing on the First Section of Osaka Securities Exchange.
Acquired ISO9001:2000 certification transferred from ISO9002 at Gifu Factory Complex.
Acquired ISO14001 certification in Kamakura area (at Development Center of Kamakura Factory).
Established ASEAN Representative office in Bangkok, Thailand.
2004 Acquired ISO9001:2000 certification at Kamakura Factory.
Acquired Gifu Prefecture Environmentally Conscious Business Facility Certificate in Gifu area (Gifu Factory Complex, Kasagami MFG. Co., Ltd. and Mugegawa MFG. Co., Ltd.).
2005 Awarded “Machine Parts Prize”, a subcategory of the 2nd Monozukuri Parts Prize by The Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun Ltd. with C-Sleeve Linear Way-Free Combination specification.
2006 Established IKO-THOMPSON (SHANGHAI) LTD. (currently non-consolidated subsidiary) in Shanghai, China.
Established IKO THOMPSON VIETNAM CO., LTD. (currently a consolidated subsidiary), in Hai Phong, Vietnam.
2007 Awarded “Machine Parts Prize”, a subcategory of the 4th Monozukuri Parts Prize by The Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun Ltd. with Linear Roller Way Super X LRXD10...SL.
Established a Development Laboratory at Gifu Factory Complex.
Established Company Charter.
2008 Acquired new plant site in Toki, Gifu.

2010〜

2010 Acquired three consolidated subsidiaries; Nippon Thompson Sales Co.,Ltd.,Kasagami MFG. Co., Ltd. And Mugegawa MFG Co., Ltd. .
Awarded “Nippon Brand Award”, a subcategory of a subcategory of “CHO MONOZUKURI Innovative Parts and Components 2010” by the Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun newspaper and the Monozukuri Nippon Conference with Micro Precision Positioning Table TM.
2011 Established Toki Factory of Gifu Factory 5 at Gifu Factory Complex.
Acquired ISO9001: 2008 certification for IKO THOMPSON VIETNAM CO., LTD.
2013 Began solar power Generation business at Gifu Factory 6 and Toki Factory buildings.

2014 Established IKO THOMPSON ASIA CO., LTD. (a consolidated subsidiary) in Bangkok, Thailand.

2017 Acquired two companies engaged in manufacturing and sales of Bearings in China; UBC (SHANGHAI) PRECISION BEARING MFG. CO.,LTD. and UBC (SUZHOU) BEARING CO., LTD. (currently a consolidated subsidiary)
